Fairino FR10 Collaborative Robot (Cobot)

Most buyers want two things from a collaborative robot that pull against each other: a gentle machine that can work beside people, and a strong one that can lift real loads. The Fairino FR10 Collaborative Robot (Cobot) is built for the middle of that tension. It carries a rated 10 kg, reaches 1400 mm, and uses closed-loop joint torque feedback to keep the arm aware of what it touches.

The product is available through this page, by quotation.

Background

Fairino and the FR series

Fairino builds collaborative robot arms in a numbered family, and the FR10 sits in the middle of it. The same family includes lighter models such as the Fairino Cobot (FR3) and the Fairino FR5 Collaborative Robot (Cobot), and heavier ones such as the Fairino Cobot (FR16), the Fairino Cobot (FR20) and the Fairino Cobot (FR30). You can browse the whole range on the Fairino brand page.

The manufacturer states that the core components are self-developed and self-produced. It describes a patented design scheme and a modular design scheme. For a buyer, this means one maker is responsible for the joints, the controller and the software. That makes it simpler to ask questions and to plan spare parts.

Where the FR10 fits among cobots

Within the Cobots category, payload and reach decide most purchases. The FR10 has a rated payload of 10 kg, with a maximum of 14 kg, and a reach of 1400 mm. That is enough for a substantial gripper, a screwdriving head or a dispensing unit, plus the part being handled. It also covers a workstation with several pick and drop points from one mounting position.

The arm has six rotating joints. The base turns ±175° at ±120°/s. Wrist 3 turns ±175° at ±180°/s, with an optional ±360° range. The arm can be mounted in any orientation, so it can go on a bench, a wall, a ceiling frame or a gantry. The footprint is 190 mm, which helps in crowded plants where floor space is limited.

What does the IP65 option change on the FR10?

The FR10 comes with IP54 protection as standard, and IP65 is available as an option. The choice depends on where the arm will stand. A clean packing bench or a covered assembly cell may be well served by the standard rating. A workshop with more dust, or one that is washed down, deserves a closer look at the IP65 version.

Say which rating you need when you request the quotation, so that the configuration is quoted correctly from the start. The operating temperature is 0–45 °C, which you should compare with the conditions at your site, especially in outdoor or semi-open buildings.

The Wrist 3 joint also has an option. Its standard range is ±175°, and an optional ±360° is available. If your tool needs to rotate further, for example for screwdriving or dispensing, mention it at the same time as the IP rating.

How is the FR10 programmed and connected?

Programming starts with a drag-and-drop web interface and a teach pendant. The pendant is an optional extra, so state at quotation whether you want it. Operators with no coding background can build simple sequences this way. Teams with software skills can go further, because the SDK supports C#, C++, Python, ROS and ROS2.

On the connectivity side, the list is long: TCP/IP, Modbus_TCP/RTU, CC-Link, Profinet, Ethernet/IP and EtherCAT. The control box offers 16 digital inputs, 16 digital outputs, 2 analog inputs, 2 analog outputs and 2 encoder inputs. The tool flange supplies 24V/1.5A. Together, these let the arm talk to PLCs, conveyors, grippers and vision systems without a lot of extra hardware.

Two controller options are listed, a DC MINI Controller 2KW and an AC MINI Controller 2KW. The box contains the Fairino FR10 Cobot, the Control Box (AC or DC), a Safety Box and a US power cable.

Who is the Fairino FR10 for?

Small and mid-size manufacturers are the natural buyers. They want to automate a repetitive task such as loading a machine, stacking boxes or driving screws, and they do not want to build a fenced robot cell around it. The 190 mm footprint and any-orientation mounting make the arm easy to place in a workshop that already exists.

System integrators are a second group. They value the open communication list and the SDK, because one arm can be adapted to many customer sites. Packaging and food-adjacent businesses can look at the IP65 option. Schools and training centers can use the web interface for teaching and the ROS and ROS2 support for research.

If your loads are light, the Fairino FR5 Collaborative Robot (Cobot) may be enough, and it is worth comparing. If you need more capacity than the FR10 offers, ask us about the Fairino Cobot (FR16) or the Fairino Cobot (FR20). We will help you match the model to the task.

What is the Fairino FR10 used for?

  1. Machine tending. Loads and unloads machines, with a reach long enough to serve the machine door from a fixed position.
  2. Palletizing. Stacks cartons and bags, within the rated 10 kg payload including the gripper.
  3. Packaging. Places products into boxes and trays, with repeatability of ±0.05mm.
  4. Screwdriving. Holds a driver at the right pose again and again, and the optional ±360° Wrist 3 range helps with tool rotation.
  5. Dispensing. Follows a path for glue or sealant, using the digital and analog outputs of the control box.
  6. Vision-guided pick and place. Works with a camera over Ethernet or the SDK, to pick parts that are not in fixed positions.

Pricing and Availability

We quote each FR10 individually, because the configuration matters: IP54 or IP65, the AC or DC controller, the pendant and the Wrist 3 range. Send us your task, your site conditions and your preferred options, and we will reply with a quotation. Delivery, customs and support are arranged together with the quotation.
